October 30th, 2008Apple PowerBook Style
The now old and well used PowerBook (circa around 2004 I think) still looks quite up-to-date and stylish against the brand new 2008 MacBook 2.4.
However, performance wise they are just two completly different machines. I was used to the now slowness of the 1Ghz PowerBook (512Meg memory) and was planning to upgrade the memory to the max in order to help it out. Where Firefox took around 20 seconds to load on the Powerbook, it comes up instantly on the Macbook (2.4Ghzs, 2Gig memory).
But, apart from the scratches and dirt on the PowerBook I do say once again that it looks and feels like an up-to-date machine. In Apple terms it looks dated, but in normal PC laptop terms it looks lik some smart Sony or something like that. I would never say Apple make the best computers in the world, but they always set the trend and are years ahead when it comes to innovation, design, and setting trends (who had white headphones before the Ipod came out?!)
